• Rootikal 3rd August – with Culture live, featuring Kenyatta Hill and The Rasites

After the sell-out live show with Yellowman and Dillinger at Flyover, Rootikal returns to on Sunday, 3rd August, to host the legendary Culture.

Culture gave the world many roots anthems, recording at Studio One and then cutting sides for Joe Gibbs, Sonja Pottinger, Shanachie and RAS. Classics include the mighty 'Two Sevens Clash’, which The Clash named themselves after, ‘I’m Not Ashamed’, Zion Gate and ‘International Herb’.

Since the passing of founder Joseph Hill in 2006, the band has been fronted by Kenyatta, his son, and it’s clear that he has inherited his father’s musical spirit. Kenyatta will be backed by The Rasites.

Rootikal residents David Hill, Mr Faso, Stuart Patterson and Oxman will come with a conscious roots selection.

Being a Sunday, the session starts at 7.00pm and runs until midnight.

Admission is £15, with a very limited number of £12 advance tickets – available online at tickettailor.com, residentadvisor.net and ticketweb.co.uk

Tickets can also be bought from Honest Jons on Portobello Road, W10; Peckings, Askew Road, W12; Love Vinyl, 5 Pearson St, E2
